Partner Tip: Complimentary Ribbon Cutting Celebration

All levels of Shareholders & Investors are eligible to receive a complimentary ribbon cutting celebration! Your business is newsworthy! Whether you’re a new business in Catawba County, want to announce an expansion or a new location, or have a milestone anniversary coming up, our celebrations are a time to showcase what your business has to offer our community!

The Chamber is pleased to serve you in a supporting role with your ribbon cutting, grand opening, or other special event. The Chamber will provide ribbon and ceremonial scissors or 2 shovels (groundbreakings) depending on your needs.

Celebrations are conducted on a first come, first serve basis, limited to one ceremony per day and three per week. To allow organizational time on the Chamber’s behalf, we request three week in advance notice to ensure availability of the Chamber staff and to avoid conflicts with other Chamber programs or functions.

Here are a few questions and answers about ribbon cuttings!
Q: When can ribbon cutting ceremonies be held?
A: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays at 11:30 am, 12:00 pm, 12:30 pm, 4:00 pm, and 4:30 pm. We do not host celebrations after business hours or on weekends.

Q: Who attends the ribbon cuttings?
A: The Chamber President & CEO or a Chamber representative will attend the event and say a few remarks on behalf of The Chamber during the program. One or more other Chamber staff members will attend as well. The Chamber will extend an invitation to the local government and invite a spokesperson to offer a few congratulatory remarks on behalf of their entity. In addition, our Ambassadors, the public, and media partners may attend. You are encouraged to invite friends, family, and colleagues!

Q: How can I get more information about ribbon cuttings and share about my business?
A: If you are interested, please contact Pamela Manfredi or Nathan Cooley for a Celebration Request Form.  You will have the opportunity to share a few facts about your business and provide a brief bio. The Chamber will use your fact sheet to relay information via the website, newsletter, and to extend an invitation to your event on social media. You will also have the opportunity to designate someone that will be making remarks on behalf of your organization.

Q: How long do ribbon cutting ceremonies last?
A: We designate 30 minutes for celebrations, with the Chamber staff arriving about 10-15 minutes prior to your event. Depending on the amount and length of remarks made by Chamber representatives, government/elected official, and the business owner(s) or representative, the tentative agenda may be longer or shorter.
