As Larsen retires from a distinguished 20 year career on active duty, he embarks on a new journey with our HKY4Vets team, bringing a wealth of experience and an unwavering dedication to the Hickory Metro region. His sense of duty, coupled with his leadership qualities and commitment to our values, will undoubtedly fuel the growth of our partners. We are delighted to welcome him as a valuable addition to our HKY4Vets team, where he will contribute to our community.
Larsen was born in Houston, Texas, but grew up in the Charlotte, NC area. After living the events of 9/11, he answered the nation’s calling to enlist in the U.S. Air Force as a Special Operations Joint Terminal Attack Controller. During his career, he graduated from the U.S. Air Force Weapons School, and has served as an enlisted Weapons Officer in a multitude of deployments and combat operations.
Larsen completed his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland-Global and is currently working towards a Master’s in Public Administration at Liberty University.
Larsen is a part of the the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion groups and is passionate about high school athletics, here he has served as a sports official for the past 5 years.
Larsen is joining the HKY4Vets team as HKY4Vets Fellow and Director of Military Affairs. He will be completing his fellowship with us through the USSSOCOM’s Warrior Care Program. Niels will be diving deep into our initiatives, bringing significant focus to our Professional Connections Program, exploring the potential for HKY4Vets to become a third party clearinghouse for DoD SkillBridge opportunities and meeting one on one with our HKY4Vets Employer Partners.
