Join us at the 2025 Legislative Breakfast

Join us at the 2025 Legislative Breakfast at Rock Barn Country Club & Spa in Conover today.  The engaging event brought together over 150 local leaders, elected officials, and business and community members to discuss and learn more about the issues that matter most to our region.

Advocacy Director, Brian Francis, presented The Chamber of Catawba County’s 2025 Legislative Agenda and gave an overview of each Guiding Principle: Workforce Development, Infrastructure Investment, Smart Taxation, Appropriate Regulation, and Affordable Healthcare. We invite you to review the 2025 Legislative Agenda here.

We took a deep dive into The State of Housing in Catawba County and the Region with a segment presented by Anthony Starr, Executive Director of the Western Piedmont Council of Governments. Starr explored the ongoing housing crisis, shared recent data and regional needs, identified factors that affect housing growth, and offered some solutions and practices for enabling housing production.

Dr. Michael Bitzer, Director of the Center for NC Politics & Public Service at Catawba College, shared A Review of the 2024 Elections. Dr. Bitzer shared insights on the North Carolina General Election from 2008-2024, discussed political calcification, and offered his perspectives during an interactive audience question and answer session.
