Today, we convened our Advocacy Taskforce for our first meeting of 2024. Rodney Miller, Deputy City Manager/CFO, City of Hickory, shared an overview of the Hickory Regional Airport and future expansion and development to spur economic development and growth for our region.
We also had guests from Raleigh, representing NC Child. NC Child is a nonprofit organization that exists to advance public policies to ensure every child in North Carolina has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you Neil Harrington, Research Director, and Erica Palmer Smith, Executive Director, for highlighting child care issues, impact on parental work, and the large economic impact it plays. They also presented potential solutions to the crisis and educated our Taskforce on policy success and implications.
