On August 29, 2023, we hosted a Ribbon Cutting for The ROSE Thrift and MORE! The ROSE Thrift and MORE! is a fun, out-of-the-box thrift store located in downtown Hickory at 108 South Center Street. Formerly known as 31 Thrift and MORE! The ROSE Thrift and MORE! sells a wide variety of clothing, vintage clothing, antiques, collectibles, furniture, books, housewares, shoes, accessories, toys, and more.
All net proceeds will benefit the mission of local nonprofit, The ROSE TLC which stands for Reaching Out Serving Everyone Through Love and Communications. Their purpose is to serve the most vulnerable in our community and beyond, with a focus on identifying and meeting the needs of local widows, widowers, and orphans aging out of foster care.
Founders and Directors, John and Ruth Featherstone, and their amazing team of staff and volunteers, are excited to open to the public. They invite you to come and explore, shop where your purchase is a donation, and enjoy the experience of “The ROSE.”
We kicked off our celebration with remarks from Chamber Ambassador Melissa Aldrich, who introduced Lindsay Keisler, President/CEO of The Chamber. Mayor Hank Guess shared remarks, followed by a brief business and mission story by John and Ruth Featherstone. After cutting the ribbon, a crowd descended into the store to shop.
Donations will be accepted starting Thursday, September 7th from 10:00-4:00 PM. Parking is available in the front of the building, on the side streets, and limited spaces in the back. You can also donate directly to The Rose TLC here.
