On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, we hosted an Ambassador Celebration at Novel Tap Room in Newton, NC. We took a moment to hear success stories from our Chamber Ambassadors. Who are our Ambassadors? They are our public relations team, an extension of our Chamber staff. They are highly visible throughout The Chamber and in the community. Ambassadors are responsible for engaging, encouraging, nurturing, and expanding relationships on behalf of The Chamber. The purpose of the Ambassadors is summarized by this mission: To welcome, inform, and connect. You will often find Ambassadors at events like our Ribbon Cuttings and First Friday Morning Brew!
After a round of recognition from our Shareholder Relations & Events Manager, Emily Jaynes, who also serves as our Ambassador Staff Liaison, we gave Ambassadors the opportunity to speak up and share their thoughts and experiences on their past year.
Cliff Moone of Preferred Moving Company, LLC shared his thoughts on serving as an Ambassador over the past three years. He enjoys helping people join The Chamber and is proud to “be a part of something.”
Tracey Paul, of the Council on Adolescents of Catawba County, shared how much she enjoyed relationships with The Chamber and the people in the community. As someone who has transitioned from the public health sector into nonprofits, she loves how inclusive The Chamber is in welcoming different types of organizations and quoted “It’s just fun!”
Phyllis Lloyd, of CertaPro Painters of Hickory/Catawba Valley really enjoys putting names and faces together at First Friday Morning Brews! “It really brings it all together,” quotes Phyllis.
AJ Kerley, of Pace@Home, enjoys having the opportunity to build relationships, connect with current members, and having challenges that encourage her to think outside the box. She’s always thinking about new organizations and businesses that could be a part of The Chamber.
Tiffany Hovis, of Hickory Daily Record, recalls that “THIS Chamber is inclusive, of all people and all industries.”
Following a brief introduction of our 2021 Chamber Ambassador Program Sponsors, Carolina West Wireless, attendees got to hear from Chasity Shumate, Business Account Executive of Carolina West Wireless and Andria Lycoff, the Retail Store Manager of Carolina West Wireless. These ladies joined Emily Jaynes in presenting our Ambassador Team of the Year.: AJ Kerley, Melissa Aldrich, Cliff Moone, Melody Parton, and Katie Tollison.
Closing remarks were made by Chamber President & CEO, Lindsay Keisler. To read more about our Ambassador program and to see a list of Ambassadors for 2022, click here.
