On April 15, The Chamber of Catawba County hosted a Ribbon Cutting for Frye Regional Medical Center’s major renovation and modernization project of the sixth-floor Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, which will enhance patient care, comfort, and recovery.

The updated unit features four private and eight semi-private patient beds for a total of 20 beds, each thoughtfully designed to promote healing and independence. It also plays a vital role in helping patients regain their independence and return to their daily lives, providing services close to home.

Each room includes enhanced amenities to improve comfort and mobility, Key features include ADA-accessible bathrooms with seated showers, support bars, ample lighting and spacious layouts to support patient independence.

Patients also benefit from personalized care provided by physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, ensuring tailored treatment plans to support recovery and independence.

Additionally, the unit includes dedicated Activities of Daily Living areas featuring fully equipped bathrooms, kitchen, and washer/dryer units. These spaces allow patients to practice essential life skills in a real-world environment.

The state of the art therapy gym is fully equipped to help patients rebuild strength and skills as they transition from the hospitals to their homes.
