Cowa-Saké Ribbon Cutting

On June 27, 2023 we celebrated the Grand Opening of Downtown Hickory’s newest restaurant, Cowa-Saké. After two and a half years of planning and preparation, they are excited to serve our community.

Chamber Ambassador, Meredith Willis, opened up the celebration with remarks before introducing Chamber President/CEO Lindsay Keisler and Mayor of the City of Hickory, Hank Guess. Imagine One Hospitality CEO Robert Lackey was also in attendance. Their executive chef is Freddy Julius.

Cowa-Saké is a Japanese style restaurant that serves a variety of dishes, including sushi, sliders, and other small plates. The restaurant also has a full bar, offering an extensive selection of spirits, cocktails, and of course, saké, to complement their eclectic food. With its sleek and modern design, Cowa-Saké provides a unique and inviting atmosphere for diners to enjoy their meals.

Cowa-Saké is located at 1 North Center Street, Suite 250, in Downtown Hickory. They are open Tuesday through Thursday from 4:00-9:00 PM and on Friday and Saturdays from 4:00-10:00 PM. They do not accept reservations at this time. Walk ins are accepted and guests are encouraged to join their online waitlist available as soon as they open each day. Guests will receive a text when their table is available.

é is a sister restaurant to, Frothy Rooster, which is connected through a back hallway. The new restaurant plans to open in July and will serve breakfast, brunch, lunch, and will feature a coffee bar and grab and go fridge.
