to best serve you by submitting an interest form. You will be asked to enter information on your business, such as main point of contact and accounts payable contact.
You will also have the opportunity to utilize other corporate wellness offerings provided by our local hospital partners.
Once you have submitted this form, the Chamber will direct you to the appropriate partner who will work with you directly to serve your needs.
If you indicate you are in need of COVID-19 testing, Mako Medical Laboratories will contact you directly to complete your registration. Mako Medical Laboratories will provide you with an account number for direct billing, login credentials to your unique user portal and additional training resources on how to begin referring employees to be tested and how to access test results.
Please note: The registration process will take an average of 2 business days, therefore, if you anticipate there being demand for employee testing at any time in the future, we encourage you to go ahead and complete this registration, by submitting an interest form above, so you are ready to utilize it immediately when the need arises. There is no cost or obligation in setting up an employer account with Mako Medical Laboratories.
When you should test
- If an individual has symptoms (list of symptoms)
- If individuals are close contacts to a known positive case: Someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.
- If you wish to screen a group of employees
If you are unsure of whether an individual should be tested, call the Catawba County Public Health Information Line at 828.465.9595.
About the results
Test results only reflect a point in time. A negative result means that someone is negative at that time. Depending on where an individual might be in their 14-day incubation period, they could have a negative test and develop symptoms of the infection days later.
Have your employee sign a release form stating that your HR department or other designated person will have access to their results.
Other ways to keep your employees healthy
Consider providing the flu shot for your employees. Both Frye Regional Medical Center and Catawba Valley Medical Center offer flu shots for businesses. Contact Lindsay Keisler, Chamber President/CEO, at email@example.com to learn more and set up vaccinations with one of our hospital partners.
