Carolina HealthWorks – Now Open for Enrollment!

We’re excited to share that Carolina HealthWorks has been officially approved by the North Carolina Department of Insurance and is now open for enrollment as of November 1!

For many small businesses, providing quality, affordable health coverage for owners, employees, and their families has been a long-standing challenge. Carolina HealthWorks offers a competitive solution.

This Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA)—sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC), the NC Chamber, and local Chambers across the state, including The Chamber of Catawba County—is available to small businesses headquartered in North Carolina with 2–50 employees who are partners of The Chamber of Catawba County or another participating local Chamber.

Carolina Healthworks is expected to deliver significant cost savings while offering flexible medical, dental, and vision options for employees.  It’s unique funding arrangement, ERISA compliance, and filing status with the NCDOI, will allow plans to be experience rated as opposed to the current ACA community rated model.

We’re grateful to the NC Chamber and BCBSNC for their leadership and partnership in bringing this program to life—and proud to have contributed input alongside Chambers across the state to make high-quality, affordable healthcare a reality for small businesses in North Carolina.

Offering quality healthcare isn’t just a benefit—it’s a strategic advantage. With access to competitive rates and comprehensive coverage, small businesses can attract and retain talent, compete with larger employers, and invest in a healthier, more productive workforce.

If you’re a small business interested in learning more or receiving a quote, we encourage you to visit our Business Directory HERE (here’s the URL – https://members.catawbachamber.org/list/category/insurance-health-1874) to connect with one of our trusted local BCBS broker partners. You may also contact Kim Miller on our team at kmiller@catawbachamber.org, who will be happy to assist you.

Keep in mind, quotes can be requested at any time, regardless of your current plan’s renewal date. Any business can receive a quote to see potential savings—and this is a great opportunity for companies not yet partnered with The Chamber to consider joining. Becoming a Chamber partner not only unlocks these partner-exclusive healthcare savings but also strengthens your voice in driving a more prosperous Catawba County and supporting initiatives that benefit the local business community.

Don’t miss this opportunity to manage rising healthcare costs, offer meaningful benefits to your employees, and strengthen your business for the future.
